A big thank you to everyone who made Friday's Show a surprising success. Everyone gave stunning performances and those of you who missed it should be kicking yourselves in the balls. Or if you're a chick, find somebody else you can kick in the balls. Especially those of you that came to fucking dance.
For those of you that are curious about m0dnAr's setlist for the night. Here it is:
1. I Can't Stop Raving (make it stop mix)
we put a lot of thought into it. since everything's correllative, those that missed it can piece together their own show from the various pieces:
heat stroke, lots and lots of clothes, sinead o'connor, strobe lights, pink blood, boas, petitioning the audience for drugs, techno prisoners, impaled on a chair, a mess of diapers, a dark room, unamused arty folk, throwing up in the bathroom, lots of saliva, a cowboy hat, a bowtie, richard pryor, unhappy hardcore, 2001: a space oddessy, lsd, m0dnAr.
Apart from that Mr. Noise shook the house with tetanus inducing, grate shredding, sample-binging noisefeasts. Captain bringdown got sumo with it, droning up ominous turntabe sounds and a dark brooding jam. Mark Marinoff proved himself a virtuoso on double or single sax. And Dick Motorolla cooled the place down with exotic clicks and cuts.
It's unclear when the next performance will be. Got a show for us? Maybe one coming up around Amherst in the basement of Van Meter with some hardcore guys and/or the Flywheel in East Hadley (if they ever get back to us) with noise guys like Emil Beauliel and Prurient. We also might contribute to an upcoming Japanese comp. being put together by Kouhei Matsunaga. I like spreading these rumors as if we're actually important, but none of this stuff is even close to being confirmed.
A website that isnt a link to another website is under construction for m0dnar.com, so hold tight for that. timh m0dnAr's radio show "shortcuts that take longer" can also now be heard streaming on the web at 1:30am eastern time Tuesday nights/wednesday mornings. blah.
